What we collect today
AU Data Residency Checker has no accounts, forms or cookies of its own yet. Pages are static. Our host, Vercel, receives standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) when it serves a page.
Analytics
We do not run analytics on this site at present. If we add an analytics tool, we will update this page first.
Links copied with the share button on compare pages carry tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) that say the link was shared. They contain nothing about you.
Email alerts (coming soon)
When email alerts launch, signing up will collect:
- your email address;
- the tools you follow and whether you want the weekly digest;
- when you confirmed, and the version of the consent wording you agreed to;
- the page you signed up on, the first page of your visit, and any UTM tags or referral code in the link you used;
- your region (for example, Australia).
We use this to send the alerts you asked for, and to see which pages lead to sign-ups. Sign-up uses double opt-in: nothing is sent to you, apart from the confirmation email, until you confirm.
Where subscriber data is stored
Subscriber data will be held by Resend, our email provider, acting as our processor. Resend says:
Stored data is held in the United States. The region you select when adding a domain controls where email is sent from, not where it is stored.

Unsubscribing and deletion
- Every email will include a link to stop alerts for that tool and a link to unsubscribe from everything.
- Unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
